Whenever Easter rolls around and Cadbury Mini Eggs hit the store shelves, I buy a pack or two because I love to incorporate them into my baking. So when I saw the recipe on Sophistimom, I knew I had to try to make these just because they were so utterly adorable.

This is the latest creation for Frost and Fete, the Etsy shop my sister and I launched recently.

When my mother and sister hosted my bridal shower, their hunt for cupcakes became a bit of a family joke as it literally spanned weeks.

I wish this solution had presented itself to us - cupcake toppers that would fit the decor and theme of the party. It would have been much easier to top plain old cupcakes than to search for the perfect cupcakes covered in piped flowers. Plus, we could have saved the toppers for another event.

Easter egg nest cupcakes

I know it's a bit early to be making Easter-themed cupcakes but ever since I saw the Cadbury eggs perched atop cupcakes in one of my books, I've been dying to make my own version.

I got the idea for the toasted coconut from Williams Sonoma's version of Easter cupcakes, I thought it would be more realistic looking than coloured butter cream.
